We have collected our corpus, but we realized it would be best if we limited our selection of 21 different meme templates to a more manageable amount. That would greatly reduce the amount of schema work that has to be done considering each meme template will most likely have its own schema. During our meeting we reviewed pushing/pulling since now we will be making progress with our data. Next steps are to begin transcribing/tagging the memes based on its syntactic structure and working on HTML/CSS for our website.

@brenda275 Scaling down either the number of meme templates or the number of samples per meme template makes good sense. The main point of the project is to gain experience with methods, and while less data may mean you’ll be doing mostly proof-of-concept, that’s entirely acceptable for a course project.

It sounds like you're making good progress! How different do you think the schemas need to be for each meme template? Would they all be closely related/pretty similar in order to facilitate analysis between the different meme templates, or would they be very different in order to focus on the specific template you are working with?
