Appearance of module tags not clear #11

Open rmj1405 opened 1 year ago

this part could have been clearer and reiterated in other relevant parts of UG i.e. while tagging someone, finding etc. I didnt see this and thought it was a bug until i read through from the start properly (which most users dont have the patience for)

Team's Response

Thank you for your feedback.

To clarify, we refrained from reiterating this in relevant commands such as tag, find etc to avoid the risk of repetition while keeping the user guide concise.

We also mention this behaviour early on in the user guide to prevent such confusion; once in the UI breakdown (as seen in your provided image) and another time in the Attribute section when we introduce the idea of Modules (see image below).

We understand that users may not have time to read in detail, and will take this into consideration for the future.

Finally, we feel that this does not warrant a Medium severity, as it does not provide the reader with false information and propose a change to Low instead.

Team chose [response.Rejected]

Reason for disagreement: Thank you for your response. It is much clearer now that it has been clearly highlighted for me. However in the UG, 'common modules' is in regular text without any form of stylisation(screenshot below). As such, combined with the fact that this is in the middle of 3 pages of attributes section(a separate issue I pointed out), it is very easy to brush over this point as a user. While I understand your concerns of keeping the user guide concise, a short one-liner reminder such as

EduMate’s Person List will only show common modules that you are enrolled in with the contact

would not have taken up much space and would have been useful for the target user of a "busy NUS student who wants to efficiently manage [their] academic and social life" who would be skimming through the UG and thus would need reminders.
