It´s a simple idea: every producing unit begins as a fleet inside a facility. At the moment it´s done it´s released. In addition you can hide units inside them respecting it´s loading_capacity. So enemies can only discover what´s inside at the very moment of the battle. Interesting isn´t it? :P
