Is there any organization not funded by MegaCorp™? I guess there aren't many in the capitalist world.
I don't think any org would openly support us until FSF make progress on certain direction.
Supporting us = suicide for them now. This is a kind of tragedy of "social",
However, there are indeed a lot of people don't think their organization, which signed that letter, can represent their own view.
I heard Leah Rowe Libreboot leader signed this petition, can someone contact her about adding Libreboot as an organization?
She's on #free-rms on Freenode, from what I gather she's working on a post to announce Libreboot's support for RMS.
I am strictly against spamming orgs with suggestions to join. I guess everyone in FOSS who is online already knows about the 2 initiatives and would decide himself if he should risk own orgs and projects by supporting any of the initiatives on the org behalf (which can cause the contributors (both pro-Stallman and anti-Stallman) leaving because of thinking that noone has authority to decide for the whole org on such matters) or not.
translation: Organizations do not need to sign a letter of support, it is enough not to sign a letter against him. This will show that they support RMS, or at least they are not in favor of his resignation, which is enough. Speaking on behalf of the organization may indicate that diversity of opinion is suppressed in it, because it is clear that the accusations are at least ambiguous. Among other things, speaking on behalf of organizations can harm the community and conscious organizations will not do this.
Something similar to the statements above should be added to the text of the letter, but to the one who will formulate in English)
I agree can someone add a note
We will not alter the text of the letter because there are already over 3000 people who signed it. It would retroactively nullify those signatures. They might not agree with additional statements.
How about not altering the text of the letter, but creating a FAQ and adding a link to it above the text of the letter, but making it clear that the link is not a part of the letter that is singed?

Perhaps it makes sense to add to the readme file. What do you think?
I don't want the readme to get too inflated.
I suggest to utilize the wiki functionality of Github. Everyone can edit it i think. https://github.com/rms-support-letter/rms-support-letter.github.io/wiki
It's not related to the letter and previous signers.
If you are not an official spokesperson for an organization, I would recommend speaking on your own behalf and using your own email address. Optionally, if you are a member of the FSF, you could use your fsf.org email address to give more weight to your signature since we are calling the FSF. It is the best practice in my opinion. At least for the people willing to share their email.
i disagree that signing by organization mean "death" outside of U.S. In the other part of the western world companies simply do not care at all. On the other hand the support from big corps actually discredit them. Outside U.S. majority of people hate american big corporations.
This hoax getting into the list of signatories of the rms-open-letter tells a lot about the quality and dependability of their signatories list... Its in Russian and hardly directly translatable, but basically its a combination of a few swear words - 100% hoax. Which means that there were no checks whether this "organization" actually exists even.
@pastk They do not care about people's voice at all. So I guess i will be ignored for a long time :)

We already have more signatures but when it comes to the value of them, the rms-open-letter appears more credible because of the long list of all the organizations' signatures. It would be nice if we can get something similar, maybe sending emails to organizations asking for their opinion in the subject? Although I think some people (and therefore organizations) are afraid of showing support of RMS in fear of getting canceled themselves or losing their job and reputation.
