I think this bug similar to zxing bug. Have you tested in Nexus 5X?

There's not any Android code that's specifically camera-related in this project -- maybe you meant to open an issue for the android-ocr project?

I would expect that project to probably have this bug, and a pull request to port the fix from the zxing project (or an issue report) would be welcome there.
