This bug was originally reported by Richard Winston while working on an MT3D-USGS test problem:
"I have encountered a bug in MODFLOW-NWT when attempting to reproduce the UZT_Disp_Lamb01_TVD example in [the] MT3D-USGS [repo]. I suspect the bug is in the UZF package. In the listing file, MODFLOW-NWT prints some non-ASCII characters. It seems these characters are also saved in the .cbc file. The screen capture below shows the non-ASCII characters on line 3690 of the listing file. The version of the model that comes with MT3D-USGS doesn't save any data to the .cbc file and so the problem is not apparent with the original example. I have attached a copy of the model."
