_DETAILSTART With the wide-useful of road stud to Highways and Municipal Roads, the quality issues and lifespan of road stud have got more and more attention. In the actual application process, the installation problems always cause the road stud damaged and reduce the lifespan. Based on years of construction experience , XP summarizes the problems frequently encountered in the installation of road stud and puts forward reasonable installation methods.

The following are common problems in road stud installation:

1. Install on the marking line. Mark is also a resin material, itself is attached to the ground, there is a certain limit of its own connection with the ground. If the road stud is mounted on the marking, the impact of the road stud will transfer to the marking completely, so that the road stud would be easily broken and even can take off the marking line.
2. Road stud installation location is irregular. The direct consequence of this is that the road stud are in unevenly stressed, and the pressure on the road stud is almost entirely concentrated in the raised and depressed parts. If it encounter large tonnage of vehicles, the road stud would be easily rupture.
3. Road stud installation location is dirty. The strength of the road stud depends on the tight engagement of the road stud, glue and the ground. If the installation location is not clean, the dust between them will absorb most of the adhesive glue, resulting in poor splicing road stud, it is easy to fall off when subjected to external shock.
4. The dosage of glue is not enough or too much. Insufficient dosage of glue will reduce the firmness of the road stud to reduce its service life; Excessive dosage of glue will spill out from around the road stud, it is easy to rub the reflector road stud, affecting the reflective brightness.
5. Glue is unevenly spread . Install road stud, the glue not only need moderate dosage, but also need to smear evenly, so as to ensure the uniform strength on all parts of the road stud, to avoid uneven stress make it to be crushed .
6. Epoxy glue mixed not well when in special environment temperature. Epoxy glue is a two-component glue, glue and curing agent need to be mixed according a certain ratio, only can be used after stirring evenly. However, due to epoxy glue easy to solidified in the cold weather when in the winter, not easy to stir enough, so be sure to heating at first, make the glue softened and then use. 7.Take road stud should not pinch reflective film on both sides, avoid making glue on the reflective film and reduce the reflective brightness.
7. The holes of mounting road stud is too shallow and small. This is mainly for aluminum road stud with foot. Aluminum road stud with foot have better impact resistance, compressive properties, longer service life due to its depth into the ground . However, during the installation process, if the hole is too shallow or too small, the bottom surface of the road stud can not be fully contacted with the ground, affecting the firmness of the bonding.
8. Glue solidified time is not enough after installation. The glue takes some time to solidify after road stud installation, in order to connect the road stud and ground, XP suggest itshould need 4 hours. However, in practice, many workers always remove the isolation facilities for less than 2 hours after installation. In this case, if they are subjected to vehicle impact and rolling, the road stud will deform and even fall off.

XP constantly try to sum up their own road stud installation methods, the steps are as follows:

1. It is the most important task to display and install safety isolation facilities. We hope that we must pay attention on it. In the whole dynamic construction process, whether it would be a new road or an open traffic lane, everyone should be in a safe place. In the traffic lane construction, the ratio of security officer and installation personnel should be 1: 1. And in the Unopened road construction, the ratio of security officer and installation personnel should be 1: 3. 2.To determine the installation location ,make sure the installation position is flat , for the expansion, crack and uneven road surface, the road should be smoothed in advance;
2. Use a brush to clean the installation location, while ensuring the installation location is dry;
3. Take appropriate glue evenly on the road stud;
4. Press the road stud firmly in the installation position, to ensure that the correct direction, if the glue more, be sure to clean up in time;
5. If it is the aluminum road stud with foot, make sure the hole depth is greater than the nail foot depth 1cm, hole diameter greater than the nail foot diameter 2mm;
6. Make a tour of the road studs within two hours after installation ,ensure all of road studs are installed in right direction and not askew.
7. After road stud cured for 4 hours, remove the installation of isolation facilities.

Road stud installation is not a complicated thing, but there are many details that must be attention. These details play a very important role in ensuring the quality of spikes and their service life.
