Opening yabridgectl #61

Hello,

I like to give yabridge a shot, i could download and extract everything: yabridge (latest version for ubuntu 18.04 LTS) and yabridgectl. But now i like to open the yabridgectl for automated installation, but nothing happens in terminal if i typ e.g. "yabridgectl -- help". I'm a linux newbie, so i'm very sorry if this is a "stupid" question. Do i need to open it with another command or first point the location? Or how can i open or start with the yabridgectl.

I don't know of it has to see something with it, but my version of wine right now is 5.0.3. I understand in what i read i have to upgrade to the latest staging version. I used this commands to install wine https://wine.htmlvalidator.com/install-wine-on-ubuntu-18.04.html. Do i understand it well i just have to add "sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-staging" or do i really have to remove something. If yes, can you tell me exactly what i have to typ in the terminal to achieve this please?

Last question: finally i like to achieve to run very good samples in Bitwig: Arva Children’s Choir (Strezov Sampling)(kontaktplayer) 16 GB or Eric Whitacre Choir (Spitfire Audio)with 192 GB. Do you have any idea if it'll work with this huge library of eg 192 GB for the Eric Whtacre Choir or will this just crash?

Thanks a lot for your help!!! Kristof

Thanks Robbert for your reply but my first problem is that when re-installing the Spitfire software, it's crashing each time....it force me to update and then it crash. Do you know any solution for that?

robbert-vdh commented 2 years ago

It shouldn't crash, and I haven't heard anyone else talk about that. Try the Wine forums or #winehq on Libera.Chat for general Wine troubleshooting help.

Hello Robbert, I just figured out more about what's happening in terminal when it breaks. I posted a question on the wineforum: ....If you can help, feel free :-)

Hello Robert, at this moment nobody could help with the wine-question -:( I really need to find a solution, because i use it for my job...So, i did a lot of more research and i found this: "SA tech support has confirmed that they are no longer supporting 32-bit operation" and they fore everyone to update to their 64-bit version. In Windows the new version seems to work in compabitiliy-mode on windows 7...Probably there seems a solution somewhere there,...strange thing for me is if i install the app, is coming in X86 programm files-directory...do you a solution for this? Do i need to configure things in a different way?

I can't really help you with your Wine problems other than what I've already told you a couple of times. Everything works fine for everyone else, and if it doesn't work then (re)installing the Spitfire software in a new, clean Wine prefix always does the trick.

I understand very good what you are saying, but.., i installed it several times, on several linux distro's, also with total clean installations...but without success, so i'm quite sure there is real a problem! But ok, i'll use windows for this software, it's a pitty i can't use linux for that...Thanks anyway!
