Cisco, Talos, Snort, say this list is not intended for being used as a global security scheme, but for testing:

They say: The Snort.org Sample list is provided for users to test the functionality of Snort and is not intended to be a primary IP Block List for any user. User behavior and automation of the downloading the list made it clear to our team that the Sample IP Block List was being equated by users to having Talos service or protection.

We added the click to accept in order to make it clear to users that the list is designed to test functionality and that the list is not intended for regular and repeated use or representative of full Talos coverage or protection. (live as of today)

Yes, Talos changed their terms for this. There's an option to convert this to https://opendbl.net/

2024-09-27 | ALL | Cisco has made it abundantly clear that opendbl.net is not allowed to redistribute their Talos IP blocklist, hence it has been disabled.
