Invalid EEPROM File #219

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. download and install companion9x
2. download firmware (no matter what kins of firmware)
3. try to load just downloaded firmware

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I can not use companion9x since it can not load any firmware file. Also I can
not load any EEPROM or flash file from the transmitter. Reading seems working
but not saving to / loading from the hard disk. When I try to save the flash or
the EEPROM to the disk it will create an empty document.
The only thing which is working: I can download a new firmware (or overwriting
it) and when companion9x asks me to burn it to the transmitter (Do you want
flash the firmware file now?) this is working very well. This way I got OpenTX
on my 9XR.

What version of the product are you using?

Version 1.43 (revision 2191), Jul 30 2013

On what operating system?
Ubuntu 13.04 (64bit), also tested with Windows 7

Which firmware have you selected ?
tested with different firmware files

Please provide any additional information below.

You are trying to read a firmware not an eeprom...
Clearly cannot work: that's not an eeprom and the error message is correct.
