I have the same problem. I just installed latest companion 9X and cannot
download new open TX versions anymore, nothing happens after clicking the
download button...
Moreover, nothing happens when clicking on file/firmware (seems greyed out...)

I did not explain myself well. The "automatic" download for firmware when
checking for updates does not function anymore. If one just uses the download
button in the preferences screen there is no problem....

The problem is a hidden window which pops up and disappears so fast you can not
see it. It sits on the command line. It asks you to download a new opentx
version, when you open it and answer it, it lets you continue. So the problem
is not downloading;it is that the window minimizes itself so fast that you miss
it when you have slow eyeballs like mine.

Could you inhibit one check for updates until the other one was done or
answered?

@tedbmossjr
may you provide a screen capture: the issue seems not there.
A windows placed in background by the a specific OS installation is really hard
to be reproduced.

I have a hard time with screen capture, but the problem is that the two upgrade
windows for the tx and opentx come so fast they overlap using windows xp or win
7.

I always had the firmware and c9x upgrade windows come over each other when
there were updates for both, but it has never been a problem. Just dismiss the
top one with what you want and then take care of the second.

You are right of course, but what about slow people like me with 4 gig
processor clocks and eight CPU's? Don't blink.
