How the related links will be introduced - manually or automatically through the use of the metadata?

Manually related links would be best in most cases because it would be better not to have anything than to have something that was useless. These genuinely related links are important signposts for users around the site.

The only exception would be something like press releases where there's a clear relationship between metadata and related articles, e.g. case, situation, stage, etc.
