Looking for speaker/spoken_to metadata #16

Hello,

first of all congratulations to your project. It looks like the largest bible metadata project which is licensed under an open source license.

I am looking for open source metadata about biblical people, in particular mentions (verses in which they are mentioned by name or alias), speakers (verses in which they speak) and spoken to (verses in which they are spoken to).

From a quick glance, it seems I can get the mentions by joining some of the JSON files, but the speakers and spoken to are not there? Do you know of other open source projects (any Creative Commons share-alike license is fine, even non-commercial ones) that provides these kinds of data, or is it planned to add these data? Unfortunately I won't have time to contribute this to your project by manually filling it in; if there is another project with compatible license, I might be able to help with merging it into your database if you are interested.

Michael,

While I have not personally used this data, I am aware of the XML-TEI Bible project which has speaker identifications: https://github.com/morethanbooks/XML-TEI-Bible. To my knowledge it is a partial data set. Others who have spoken to me about similar ideas either never got off the ground or are unwilling to release the data in any capacity.

I wish there were more resources available. Your idea is a good one.

Robert
