Hello Rocket Project! As you may have seen from the Canvas announcement, we're putting everyone in a Slack group that was originally populated by the instructors of the DH class, as one of the means by which we can get this class up and running virtually amid COVID-19 concerns and quarantine.

As such, please create an account on Slack and use the link that Dr. B shared in the Canvas announcement to join the UPG-DH-Instructors group! Once you've joined Slack, you can see that there's a channel, listed in the menu on the left-hand side under "Channels", named "rocket." We can use this Channel to get in touch with the project team members more easily, now that we're not seeing each other face-to-face in class. Slack is a little more convenient than continuing to use GitHub because you can install it as an app on your phone or computer, and it's designed to be a place where quick messages can occur, and I will see messages on Slack more quickly than I will see pings from GitHub.

If you have any questions about joining the Slack group or getting the apps installed, feel free to ping me here on this issue about it.

As for the Rocket Project, it should still continue, despite the new completely online nature of our coursework. As such, I'd like for us all to take some time this week to discuss how we'd continue project meetings online, whether that be via Zoom, Slack, or some other digital medium.

As always, I'm available if you have questions or code to debug. I will no longer be holding regular office hours in the Center, but you can reach me via GitHub or Slack. Furthermore, you could also email me at frc23@pitt.edu. Let's keep in touch about how the project is progressing and how you're all doing in these crazy times!
