Hey, I'm Lauren, and I'm a returning student! Keeping in mind that you still have a lot of work to do, it's a good start. It does reach the requirements for both of the HTML exercises. My comments are based on what's on the site.
I don't think anything's wrong with the color of your site; however, a good idea would be either to change the background color or the text color. Both are pretty similar, and it does make reading the smaller text harder to read. You also mentioned CSS in the heading, but you should keep in mind an audience that wouldn't care about the CSS and say it in smaller font. For example, you could talk about being in digital humanities in a p tag and then bring up the CSS. It also depends on what you want your website to portray. Your site should show that, but right now, it's random. The CSS is good, but as I mentioned prior, add a couple of more colors or something to specify different formats on your site. Good use of flexbox! Even though I don't know if you plan to keep that page up, but it shows that you know how to do it, so that's fun.
You know how to do most of the things for your website, and the code is great! While I would say a navigation bar would better, I like the use of the "go to the page here" button and then a back button. It keeps your page circulating which is important. I think that's all for now.
