Hi vvviperrr, I read that you have your code running in OpenWRT too. Could you add a Makefile and some instructions to compile it? I'd really like to try SimpleRT on a small device.

vvviperrr commented 6 years ago

sure, asap.

Great!

Hi @zanzani , I've taken over the project from viper. What's the status of this request?

zanzani commented 2 years ago

Hi Robin. Thank you for continuing the project. It has been years now so I had to think what this was and if I can still use it. But I do think it is useful. I would like to test it on OpenWrt if possible. I can imagine it as a wired ethernet interface for my tablet or mobile. I still need it from time to time.

Aha, interesting. I don't know much about the openwrt, any suggestions for where to start? I don't have a router at all, so it'd be good to get your help as a test subject. Hmm, perhaps this could be done on a virtual device?

Well, I think I have to get experienced in building it from source again. The build-enviroment has been changed over the years. As soon as I am able to (re-)build packages I will try to build SimpleRt. But since I am not a coder I will probably get stuck somewhere. That's the point when I can step in. I might give you access to that build-server by then. First I will try SimpleRt on a vm or a standalone Linux machine and see if that works.

I might try this tomorrow. I'm surprised it runs on x86, i assumed most routers would be ARM. hey ho
