mappings.xml fails to load #23

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Change test.xml to mappings.xml the config file
2. run mappinect
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect to be able to run the various examples you give in the video. However
the application fails to load.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
.026 32bit windows 7 64

Please provide any additional information below.I also tried to just include
the rotations set in a new file according to the simple test syntax but was
also unable to get it to work

Mappings shouldn't be in this version of mappinect because the syntax
changed... you should try with live_jazz or other files, but mappings won't
work with the 0.26 version of mappinect.

Ok no problem I guess that because your working on the builder right? I should
be able to construct my own rotation based mapping though right?

Yes and no, some syntax changes were made for a better implementation of the
MIDI / DMX / OSC routing.
The builder will allow you to do that, but you should first learn how this
works inside the xml files, because i don't know when i can finish it.

ok then my next question is have you any other examples or documentation of the
new syntax. Rotation would be a good one for me:)

All the documentation is in the xml files themselves. Check out live_jazz.xml,
there is everything inside it. I'm sorry there is no user-friendly
documentation, and "Getting Started" tutorials, i didn't have much time to
write it this year with my *actual* job.

When i get my hands on the builder again, i'll pack this off with everything
needed so that everyone can use it the easy way.
