Latest ReadTools includes an HTSJDK version with a pathc to the snappy library, which should work now in almost all the architectures. Thus, I think that now it might be safe to remove the use of -Dsnappy.enabled=false for ReadTools.
In addition, if we include a requirement for the Picard version, this should be also fixed in the latest one (I should check this before we go in that direction).
