Cannot view email, just "redirecting"

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. opening the software
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
to see my gmail, instead is a white screen with "redirecting" in the title 
bar. I've uninstalled and reinstalled but it doesn't help

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
downloaded today, no idea of version

Please provide any additional information below.

I have maybe the same issue.  I open GMDesk, with gmail as default.  gmail 
loads, and is instantly 
replaced by my igoogle home page.  (Instantly means ~ 1 sec after gmail page 
renders)

Clicking the gmail link on igoogle, re-renders the gmail page, then back to 
igoogle.

Choosing calendar, or docs, works correctly.  Only gmail redirects to the 
iggogle page.
This app works properly for me under windows.

This was working previously for me

Linux,/Ubuntu 9.10

Your search - when I try to launch 'full gmail' from my igoogle page it pulls 
it but automatically then goes to my calendar view... what setting has messed 
this up... i.e. it is defaulting to calendar view from gmail... mac and firefox 
access... only does this on one of my macs... help - did not match any answers 
in our Help Center.

Same problem, cannot get into mail always redirects to igoogle.
