Also added an extra exception catch to print errors in another spot where compilation can fail.

@sanchothefat is this plugin being maintained anymore?

roborourke commented 10 years ago

Not actively enough I'm afraid, I use LESS mostly. I'm happy to add someone as a core dev if they have the time to take over.

If I could merge this pull automatically I'd do it now. Sorry, not the answer you were looking for I know. Let me ask the WP community on twitter if anyone can take the reins

I'm starting to wonder if I should switch to LESS. May I ask why you decided on LESS over SASS? Is it just easier for PHP development?

roborourke commented 10 years ago

It's really just personal preference. LESS is more like actual CSS whereas SASS is more like programming within CSS. It's a lot more powerful but LESS was easier to learn at the time.

That's a really interesting point. I've been solely focused on the power that SASS provides. But I have not had a lot of luck with adoption throughout my company due to numerous technical hurdles. The more I think about it, the more I see that LESS has some pretty nice advantages when it comes to ease of use. It also seems a lot easier to get up and running quickly. I'll have to ponder on this some more. Thanks for your input @sanchothefat
