I am a student, your board is too expensive, my teacher’s laboratory can make one by myself, so I would like to ask if there is a PCB file? I like your board very much. Thank you

Hey @zouzhe1 ,

We have not publicly listed these files as they can be used to build clones of the board.

All the schematics are available and public.

What are you planning on doing with the Robo HAT? We might be able to come to an arrangement.

@wallarug
I think open source should mean that both hardware and software are open source, so that the product will develop quickly and more people will participate in it. I want to use this to make a smart car, because I made a special version of jetbot with jetson nano myself, haha. Poor students cannot afford your circuit boards.......

@zouzhe1 The hardware is open source. You can openly download the schematic files.

Sharing the PCB design files is tricky due to our licencing with the manufacturer and IP regulations. Also, the format I may be providing won't work for you. I don't particularly want to get into this in more detail.

I'm all for helping students on their projects - you can find out all about it here. There have been many other cases where I have helped students out on projects by providing them a MM1.

The reason for the price is the cost of the board. I would be surprised if you could manufacture or find the parts to build the MM1 for the price we offer it (at a loss after all our engineering costs).

Please send me an email (wallarug@roboticsmasters.co) so that we can discuss this further and come to an agreement.

You can purchase the MM1 from here now as well (which may be cheaper in your region):

@wallarug Thank you very much for the purchase link. I have seen what you do recently and I admire you very much. For example, the 72-hour autonomous driving project sounds cool. I have studied udacity's deep learning course, and there seems to be a similar autonomous driving project in it. I am learning ROS. I feel like I am just getting started, but I won't be able to learn the actual project. There is a lot to learn. Are you in sydney? It should be very late at your place, my girlfriend just came back from New Zealand, and I just learned that there is a 4 hour time difference between me and you...
