I prefer 2 (or 3) clause BSD as well. 2 clause BSD is effectively the same thing as MIT, just written a bit differently.
I know almost nothing about software licensing, so I'm afraid I won't be able to add much to this conversation.
Let's switch to 3-clause BSD then.
FIRST's code is licensed under the BSD license, and previous RobotPy was under the MIT license, so I used that license for all the python packages here. However, I'm typically more inclined to use an Apache 2.0 or BSD license as opposed to MIT.

@computer-whisperer , as you've contributed significant code, you should contribute your opinion here too.
We should probably be in agreement about this.
