This is my idea:
If it's swiped all the way to the left, then maybe the time setting will be "now" or something? If so, we make each vote decrease in weight beginning from right now.
If the user has "1 year" selected, then each vote from before a year ago is still counted in full. Votes after are counted exponentially less.
