[FEATURE] Olav Mol (Grand Prix Radio) as a Dutch audiotrack #280

Open SmashRocket opened 2 years ago

SmashRocket commented 2 years ago

With Olav Mol being forced out as the Dutch F1 TV commentator after 30 years by Viaplay next year it would be great if you could add Grand Prix Radio (where he will continue with live reporting with an official F1 license) as an additional Dutch audio track and maybe add some options to sync audio to the video.

Heunen29 commented 2 years ago

This would be awesome!!!

robvdpol commented 2 years ago

I'll have to wait and see if this is possible.

Heunen29 commented 2 years ago

To see if it is possible to embed in the code? The stream can be used throug API of stream the world...

Many of the the fans would be happy if this would be possible. If you read all the comments on the new NENT team you'll understand. ;).

mvaneijken commented 2 years ago

In the case of Grand Prix Radio you can find their stream on https://playerservices.streamtheworld.com/pls/GRAND_PRIX_RADIO.pls. This can easily be opened using fi VLC Player. If you consider this feature, I would suggest that the user can add any open stream as audio track to RaceControl.

menzo2003 commented 2 years ago

It looks like it has been decided that Dutch commentary will not be in the official F1TV stream. So this feature would be greatly appreciated.

----

We hope you are looking forward to the new F1-season 2022.

Unfortunately we have to inform you Dutch commentary will be available starting June 2022 .
You can still listen to commentary in other languages.
As soon as the Dutch commentary is available, we will let you know.

+100 now

Should be a very nice addition! at least for the live races

SmashRocket commented 2 years ago

I'll have to wait and see if this is possible.

Any more insights yet on the possibilities? or shouldn't we hope for it to be included in the nearby future @robvdpol?

robvdpol commented 2 years ago

The main issue will be the audio syncing, since it will never be in sync with the F1TV video feed. Apparantly the Grand Prix Radio app and website has a slider to adjust audio sync. For now I would recommend using that.

imnotnoa commented 2 years ago

And you'll probably want to hear some racing sounds too, so you'll have to use to audiosteams which adds some difficulty I assume

robvdpol commented 2 years ago

As far as I know the Grand Prix Radio audio will have racing sounds as well.

Isn't it possible to add similar sync buttons for this in RC? It would be an absolutely awesome feature!

Tried running VLC with the input-slave to run the video with the GPradio audio stream but couldn't get it to work. Most of the players have a way to play with the audio offset. Couldn't get it to work in the end that way. Would be cool if we could get that (audio stream, 'simple' sync buttons)

What should work is to add this in the mpv external parameters --audio-file="https://playerservices.streamtheworld.com/api/livestream-redirect/GRAND_PRIX_RADIO.mp3"

All you need to do is sync it with ctrl + and ctrl -

Anyone knows whether it would be possible to also use something like this with Cast. Would be nice to have F1 video and GP-Radio in one stream on Chromecast

Used https://22323.live.streamtheworld.com/GPRDANCE.mp3 as a backupstream today with an offset of 20600. Would be cool if that stays the same :)

Works great with the normal stream aswell. Think an A/V sync offset between the 19600 - 21600 is perfect.

Now watching the qualifying with an 19600 A/V sync offset.

There you can finetune it 👍

Also worked seamless for me. Great solution!

Does this still work now that Grand Prix Radio is only available in Belgium?
