GUI doesn't load #41

For some reason, I have this problem where all the data is loaded except for 
the GUI. All I have at that point is like a transparent frame that I can't 
click and only shows what used to be there (loading screen). I can go over the 
tray icon and see that it's interacting with the network and I can receive the 
chat messages, but I can't do anything that requires the GUI, which is 
everything. Right clicking the tray icon doesn't do anything since the options 
are unresponsive.

I have this exact same problem.  The alliance GUI doesn't load after the 
startup splash screen reaches "loading main window...".  I receive windows 
notifications for each chat message, but can't access any of the alliance 
features whatsoever.  Does anyone know anything else about it?

Hey I resolved the problem by uninstalling alliance and using the "manual" 
install available here
