Open in Background with "v" not working #279

What is the problem? Describe completely:

Minimalist version   - 0.6.3
Relevant core module - Minimalist for Google Reader
Chrome version       - 24.0.1312.56 m
Operating System     - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
Language             - Spanish
Google Apps user?    - No
Other extensions     - many (but i disabled/enabled them one by one until i 
found that the problem was with this  particular extension, not the others)

Please provide any additional information below and attach screenshots if
relevant.

When the option "Open items in background with [ v ]" is enabled, the keyboard 
shortcut doesn't work. It used to work just until the most recent upgrade, 
which happened today on my computer.
