Hide Header - hide Google bar/background not working #302

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What is the problem? Describe completely:
After repairing core modules since they were gone, these three options (at
least) don't work for me.

Minimalist version -3.0.1
Relevant core module - Gmail
Chrome version - 24.0.1312.57
Operating System - Mac OS 10.8.2
Language - English
Google Apps user? - Yes(?)
Other extensions - One Click Extensions Manager

Please provide any additional information below and attach screenshots if
relevant.
The problem persists after Chrome restart, clearing the cache and switching off
all extensions.

BTW, just to say that I love the extension and it's one of the main reasons I
hesitate to change browser
even if I'm slightly annoyed by Chrome's memory management.

I am not able to reproduce this, but some selectors can be inconsistent from
user to user for whatever reason.

To help me debug this, please right-click "+YourName" in the Google Bar, click
"Inspect Element", expand the code panel which appears and upload a screenshot
(feel free to redact your name, I just need to see the classes of the container
elements above it.)

Hmm that's odd. None of the selectors that I'm expecting are missing. Can you
enable the Hide Google Bar option and take the same screenshot?

Thanks for helping out

'Hide Google Bar' and 'Hide Header' were already activated.
I am attaching a screenshot with only 'Hide Google Bar' activated ('Hide
Header' off).

Oops! Well then that's very broken isn't it... Please turn it back on but this
time take a screenshot of what is in the JS Console: Chrome Menu > Tools >
JavaScript Console.

There appears to be a GreaseMonkey script running that is failing hard because
it's not running in GreaseMonkey. Can you disable that script in
chrome://extensions or in the Minimalist Dashboard if you've imported it as a
module.

That fixed it.
Sorry for your trouble...
Thanks

No problem! These things can be very difficult to debug. Just out of curiosity,
what script was it? I like to maintain a list, at least personally, of what
things are incompatible with Minimalist.

Although I deleted it (!), I think it was this one:
http://userstyles.org/styles/32071/google-reader-my-custom-style
It said 'Prefetch more for Google reader', that I remember.

Ah interesting, it shouldn't have been running on Gmail at all. Maybe if you
installed it again and change the includes line to `*google.*/reader*` it would
work

No, it didn't. Now even when I deleted it anew, gmail core didn't work and I
had to repair core modules.
