Improve session start check #10

Hi, We had some issues with the session check using Grav (which relies on this lib). This is a proposal to fix these issues.

Looks good. Can you also add changelog entry? Just create a new version with XX/XX/2016 date and add the title of this issue to there. You can look on older changelog entries how to format it.
