General Tasks for the next update #65

This issue is to spread the work out a bit so anyone that has creature tweak and dev account can help and contribute Ill add to as i remember stuff.

NPCs: New Corsica will have a lot of Spawns as it is mean't to be a region in the middle of a war so we'll need lots of NPCs here's a list of NPCs i know we need:

-Soldiers: We need recruits some melee some range, both genders perhaps 5-10 total their names should be Recruit Blank (blank being whatever you want to name them)

-Officers: Officers will generally be quest givers considering the player is a recruit they would be taking orders from their superior officers. We have a fair of them already so maybe creating 3-5 officers of the follow ranks - Corporal, Sergeant, Private, Commander, Captain (dont make like 5 commanders ... try to have more lower ranking officers)

-Civilians: we need some civilians to run around screening or hide or be killed... not a ton maybe 3-5 for now named whatever.

-Town Guard/Guard Captain: This is for the North Beach town we need 2 types of guards and a guard captain named Guard Captain Blank (blank being whatever you want to name them)

-Anubians: We have lots of Anubian mobs already but we could have 2-3 more reference the current Anubian spawns to not make doubles just use Creature browse and type Anubians and check the names.

-Anubian Officers: We could possible need a few more Officers for quest targets and bosses we can certainly use anything we dont need now later so maybe make 3-5 officers. Anubian ranks are Warlord, Commander, General, Overseer, Archmage (refrain from using Archmage as technically the leader of all the anubians is the Archmage) but Archmage Ramses could make an appearance in The starting Zones so he can be added if you want. Again try to use the lower ranks more please.

Props for New Corsica

Since we are making NewCorsica and Earthrise from scratch (prop wise) having multiple people working on it will help drastically. Here is the story for Corsica its not great i know but hopefully itll paint enough of a picture to help you build. Remember every inch of Corsica is a warzone

Story line For Corsica

We arrived at the shores of the North Beach to find our ranks had been divided, recruits with out officers, squads pinned down by artillery fire and Anubian infantry. The Small number of forces we could muster from the victory at Bastion Island wouldnt be enough to overpower the Anubian ranks, a tactical assault would be our only realistic play.

I met up with a small group of staggered soldiers who had been practically pushed back to sea.

One of them caught their breath and said " Thank Gaia your hear we didn't think anyone was coming! They came out of nowhere and have been kicking out tails ever since they took Southend. We need to reconnect with the Sarge he's pinned down near the beach we tried to meet them had on but got split up in the fight I'd be surprise if they are still breathing but we have to try!" We fought our way through the piliaged town and made our way too the beach. There I saw the remnants of Sergeant NAMEs squad fighting to their dying breath. With what little strength our ranks had left we managed to cut through the Anubian lines and make contact with the Sarge. He said " I didn't think we stood a chance, you guys came just in time! but we dont have long another battalion will be here soon and we dont have the man power to survive another hit... We need to make a tactical retreat back to the fort, if were lucky their maybe a few men still held up in their we had a platoon of guards barricade the civilians inside. I'm not sure if those bastards broke through or if they are still alive in there".

After battling our way to the fort we met up with guard Captain NAME. They were still held up in the keep but at least they were still breathing. The Guard Captain agreed that a tactical treat was the best play and that we should set up a base of operations at North Beach so that it could be held so reinforcements can be safely brought a shore to build a retaliation force.

I was asked to take a small team and reach the few outpost we still controlled and give them a full report and convince them to fall back. As we crossed the bridge onto the main land we wondered if there our mission was in vein... The road was littered with Anubians and what few soldiers we still had on the frontlines. Catapult fire rocked the very core of the island, ballista bolts ripping the turf from the ground piercing mountain sides, we knew our objective but how could we abandoned our brothers and sisters? Keeping in mind the costs of war and what needed to be done we aided our bretheren the best we could. We were tipped off by injured beast that the Anubians had take prisoners of war and were preparing to load them on ships to use for randsom. A small task force like us didnt have the numbers to over power their slaver camp so we climb the hill and took hold of some of their artillery. We sunk two boats and one of their ballistas. With the odds evened out a bit we snuck into the camp killing as many Anubians as we could and need too to save the men we could and told them to get to North Beach.

After rescueing the captives we arrived at the first outpost next to the vile grove a ill forest infested with some form of green fog or radiation from the comet that crashed into the moon. There we found Commander NAME. We gave him a report and although he agreed with what needed doing he refused to abandon his post with out striking one final blow onto the Anubians from his position claiming that if he can wound them itll give us more time to make our retreat. The Commander told us about an Anubian Camp they had been bombarding with catapults for some time but they are low on ammo. He needed help collecting some debris that could be salvaged and then told us of a plan for a home made bomb using Vilelasher venom a wild plant like creature, he thought if we could make these bombs we could sink a few of their ships and cut off their reinforcements giving us a clearer path to reach Southen

We arrived at Southend to find the City was underseige. The Anubians had stormed the beach and set fire to the lower district if the town and in a desperate effort the beasts were forced to closed the inner gate to regroup leaving not only soldiers in their fighting to their last breath but Civilians who would be slaughtered or taken as prisoners themselves. The City was ablaze and what men they had left was not nearly enough to hold the Anubians for long. To your surprise you found Sir Lancelot had made it to town and was leading the defenses. You told him your orders, but they could not abandon the city and leave everyone to die. His plan was that if we could get some artillery fixed and working we may be able to surpress the Anubians and then send a team in to cut down their numbers while evacuating the men and woman who were trapped. If we could accomplish this task we could abandon the city and blow the Bridge to Earthrise in a desperate move to seperate the enemies forces and then have the civilians take a secret passage through the mountains to the other side of Corsica the region known as Earthrise.

After having pulled off our desperate mission Sir Lancelot urged me to take the Secret Passage. He claimed that they'd need a strong arm to clear the cave of any creatures and to get a message to our forces in Earthrise to alert them and have every fall back to Earthend if it wasnt too late. He would go back to North Beach and muster what men he could and meet us at Earthend.

The New Class system

Dissy has recently finished the first draft of the new craft system and Emerald developed a editor so that its easy to make and tweak new abilities. If you reference her post in Enhancements post abilities youve made or tweaked and what class they are for and subspec

Crafting System: Although this is low priority right now any work on the crafting system will save us time in the future. Crafting will be the best way to obtain old SPM sets and looks as well as many other while also offering a realistic alternative to grinding for gear. Heres what we need:

-Weapon plans: lots of new weapons plans ( green, blue and pruple rarity for now) The stats should be comparable to SPM rarity and and lvl equal to the item your making affixs can be added as well. Each lvl pairing (odd lvls) after 10 should have at least 3 weapons of each kind (1H 2H, range etc)

-Armor set plans: Same as weapons but armor follows paired numbers and Old SPM looks should be recycled and used for the crafting system give them new stats obviously again on par with SPM sets. Try to have 2-3 sets for each class per 2 levels

Alchemist plans and Enchanter plans will be made later

its a good write-up for a rough draft however mentioning landing near the vile grove,greenfog, radiation, comet from moon sort of spoils the entire arc as one of the main plot-points within the game is that these various groups have come across and discovered the powers the shard pieces can have and have become "Twisted" by them. By mentioning the shards within the storyline as merely a descriptive piece of where a war is happening you significantly minimize the importance of the moon shards within the game.

I would just go with "a grove immersed in a strange green fog" instead; this way as the game goes along the moon shards and story of earth mother remains intact.

I see where your coming from but Earth Eternal doesnt have any main plot arcs as of now. Don't confuse Lore (ancient History) with Story plot. That being said this story i wrote is nothing official its main purpose was to illustrate the direction the Zone will be taking for the sake of placing Props and actually designing. It was meant more to help the creative process for our builders. The Mother Shards are featured several times in the starting regions both Corsica and Earthrise, but they are hardly main plot points. They will mostly likely be feature in a tangent lore quest line that progresses perhaps "the Ultimate conflict" being that of the war between Gaia's beasts and the Djall's undead.

What myself and the rest of the dead team hope to accomplish with these revamps is develop a true story line that the player is following from beginning to end rather then taking part in a collage of fairy tales and your randomness of antagonists who's stories never lead anywhere.

The biggest and current threat from the beginning of the game is the Anubian war so my plan is to take that story and run with it. Basically what this means is there will be main story quests and general quests in the game and even if a region's main story quest arent abundant in every region they will be what leads the player from region to region not just "oh guess im done here maybe theres something else for me to do somewhere else"

With a main story line we can reuse more NPC characters and develop story lines with them as well. This will hopefully let player become more attached to characters and want to play through the story rather then just zooming through quests for Xp.
