Lag of doom #8

Testing 1.7.10.4 I tried to play a single player world from the previous version, and was getting up to 10 seconds of lag on simple things like breaking blocks. It felt like playing on a server with a really shitty ping.

I've attached a couple of logs full of null references, don't know if it's in any way related. Everything seemed fine in the tutorial world, it was just the overworld that was affected.

Nothing looks out of place. People have complained about lag in various parts. In particular, the tutorial world takes upwards of 10 seconds to stabilize before people can use it for the first time. It is generally dismissed as entity lag, but I am unsure.

As for Overworld stuff, I will peck a little more between new games and old saves to see if something is peculiar. Otherwise, I don't have any magic. IIRC FastCraft is still in there, and you might whack that to see if it behaves for you. I would be interested in this because people have mixed views on FastCraft.

Ahh nevermind--I see in that latest.zip the flood of "Couldn't render entity." I guess I'll have to focus on that. It's an absolutely useless error message though so it's going to be a guessing game. Yay!

I couldn't reproduce it with my worlds. If you're feeling enterprising, then it's like something with one of the mods I updated. The old 1.7.10.3 BFSR is in DropBox at https://www.dropbox.com/s/6ws7fiwk4eyfa8e/babys-first-space-race-1.7.10.3.zip?dl=1

I updated: RFTools ChickenChunks RTG VeinMiner

If this release may affect your server game, then you might try reverting each of those in order until the vomiting stops.

Seems to only be a thing in single player for me, the server was fine, which means I don't care :)
