Universal newlines #3

I've very happy to change any part of this. e.g. you may not like the variable name eols. I find newlines to be a confusing name, but I am very happy to use that name, or any other, such as end_of_line_markers.

This is fine. Thanks. I will be putting out a release with just these changes shortly.

However, there are the other things I said I want to include. But those will go in another release fairly soon as well.

Ok. Version 0.3.1 is out.

Another version will be on the way.
