Pre-filter out the noisy, high order products of dim pixels so we can greatly reduce the dimensions of the PLD design matrix.

Different approaches:

Run PCA and show that things don't change
Apply L1 prior on weights instead of L2
Visualize the current weights and see what kinds of pixels are given higher weight

Sounds like the best approach is to use all 1st order vectors, then run PCA independently on 2nd and 3rd order to reduce the size of the basis.
