@fhxshrs I have a question: In China, I know that people call kids that are not their children 小朋友.

  1. Would it sound weird if someone call a kid 孩子?
    1. If not, which one is the most common to refer to a kid 小朋友or 孩子?
    2. If not, are there any significant difference between calling a kid 孩子 or 小朋友? (I have a gut feeling that 小朋友 is more friendly than 孩子)

I'm asking because if 小朋友 has a friendlier tone than 孩子, we can think of a translation that also express friendliness instead of a plain "Kid". For the time being, I've already committed your recommendation: 31425f2

@rdrg109 我觉得“孩子”更多的是用于称呼自己的孩子，像hijos；而“小朋友”则是叫和自己没有血缘关系的年纪很小的人。
