Request for useful feature: automatically populate one of iPhoneToday's screens
with the entire contents of the Start Menu.
I love this software, but one thing is missing - the ability to automatically
populate iPhoneToday's app list with the current contents of the Start Menu.
When one installs an app, it is only added to the Start Menu - which is the
only reason we still actually need and use the Start Menu.
I suggest two modes of operation here (aside from the option to disable the
feature entirely for those who do not want it):
1) Automatically mirror / use the contents of the Start Menu, always available
on the designated page of iPhoneToday. No user intervention would be required
to add a recently installed application or delete a removed application.
2) Have an integrated function (or even a MortScript) available that would go
through and update the designated page of iPhoneToday with the current contents
of the Start Menu.
Start Menu sub-folder handling options could be:
1) Dump onto the same designated app page with the other icons
2) Each sub-folder will be a separate app page
3) Ignore sub-folder contents entirely
...
I have always seen the biggest problem with iPhoneToday to be that we must
always manually add each icon, one by one. While this current interface is
excellent and quite capable, it should be supplemental to the above suggested
feature IMO - resulting in a complete iPhone-like interface that can actually
replace the clumsy Windows Mobile Start Menu entirely.
This would allow those users who flash different ROMs to their phones often to
not have to worry about altering their backed up iPhoneToday settings to match
a new set of cooked-in software every time they want to try something new.
This is a great piece of software. Thank you for iPhoneToday!
