The --goto:.. parameter isn't working in today plugin.

It works.
In the execute field of the icon just type:
--goto:..
I think you put iPhoneToday.exe in the execute field and the goto command in 
the 
parameters, which sends the goto command to iPhoneToday.exe if it is already 
running. It would have worked if you had the iPhoneTodayCmdLine.exe in the 
execute 
fiels which would send the goto command to the today plugin. Anyway just type 
the 
goto command (and any other similar command) in the execute field.
