An ugly hack would be (for English) to take the last 2 characters of the ordinal form and append those to the number.
The ordinal form with digits exists in multiple languages. I think all those forms are variations on the same idea. How would we call this form? Ordinal suffix?
So the wikipedia page has 1
and one
for cardinal, and 1st
and first
for ordinal. So perhaps "ordinal numeric", (and then "cardinal numeric" would be the usual show
, although adding cardinal numeric itself would probably be redundant). "ordinal suffix" also seems reasonable.
It would be nice to be able to convert from a number into a number+suffix ordinal, e.g
1st
, 2nd,
3rd` etc.
