"Gmail - This app is currently unreachable" displayed in popup. #14

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Gmail app.
2. Try to use Tasks extension

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I see an app error page, as if the Gmail app failed to load.

Upon uninstalling the Gmail app, the real error page it was hiding shows up...
an infinite redirect loop error. Clicking the refresh link then opens tasks.

Reinstalling the Gmail app does not immediately break it (I suspect Gmail must
be installed when the popup is first open).

Doing things in the task list with the Gmail app installed seems to still work.

This smells like a Chrome bug rather than an extension bug.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Can you please include the link to the Gmail app you're using, and the "app
error page" you see?

The official one:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/pjkljhegncpnkpknbcohdijeoejaedia

The error page is the one shown for any app that fails to load (in this case,
the app error page is hiding the redirect error, since it occurs on the
mail.google.com subdomain so Chrome assumes it is part of the Gmail app).

I am not seeing the app error page anymore, so it's possible this was a problem
in Chrome which has been fixed. The redirect error still exists though... but
I'm not sure how to trigger it 100% accurately, it's probably related to a
specific combination of Gmail cookies.

I synchonized chrome from my desktop to my laptop. A new tab appears on the
laptop:"OAuth Redirect Page" "redirecting...", it have the Tasks Extension
Icon. In the Dekstop it doesn't appear.

VERY EASY TO FIX!!!!

Forget cookies, dns servers, chrome network prediction settings...

1. JUST goto dos prompt
2. ipconfig /release
3. ipconfig /flushdns
4. ipconfig /renew

VOILA!!!

Great. So now I have to drop the the command prompt to fix this error?

I have to many users to have them do this...fix the code, Google-ites.

This worked for me. Thanks. I completely restarted Chrome as part of it. So not
sure if that made a difference, but thanks for sharing.
