I have tried so many times.
Apr 26 12:50:45 debootstrap: Segmentation fault
this may due to lack of memory. please enable swap and try again.
And it's already debian kernel, so you're using debian installer?
Yes , I just follow this:(directly use daily images boot up)
With the development on d-i (Debian Installer), now scripts here seems obsolete, because we can install Debian directly. There's no official release yet, so you need to use daily images. Find images for your Linkstation model here:
https://d-i.debian.org/daily-images/armel/daily/orion5x/network-console/buffalo/ https://d-i.debian.org/daily-images/armel/daily/kirkwood/network-console/buffalo/ Put those images into 1st partition of the HDD (/dev/sda1 or /dev/md0), and boot Linkstation, after a few minutes you can access to the d-i via SSH connection:
ssh installer@
ssh installer@
so you already start to use debian installer, and successfully SSH into it. did you proceed to the partition stage? if so, please add a swap partition. installer will use it after you confirm it.
I manually do this or use the default setting(automaticly) is the same result. And I think I have mounted the swap.
Thank you, But a same I have tried several mirrors from different country ,no lucky. And "run 'free' " what's the meaning of it?
If the hardware damaged? And if I can test it?
"free" is a command to check memory usage, which includes swap
# free
total used free shared buffers
Mem: 124052 35712 88340 12 0
-/+ buffers: 35712 88340
Swap: 0 0 0
ok , I know this command.
total used free shared buffers
Mem: 124020 100528 23492 56 488 -/+ buffers: 100040 23980 Swap: 363516 4 363512
so this proves you have a active swap. if considering hardware failure, SoC seldom fails, but HDD may have higher possibility. you may consider change the HDD and have another try. Remember to capture the log, thank you!
Thank you. But yesterday I have tried this use my SSD but useless.

thanks for the updated log! this log doesn't have "Segmentation fault", so I found this may be the same as debian bug#820550:
I'll get you updated if I found a solution.

the log, it looks different from my side,I delete some “(” or "<".now it's similar. I think you are interested in these lines. Thank you very much.
Today I had a install tested on LS-WSXL (2-Bay LS-WXL variant with 2.5' HDD), and it was quite successful. I used image in /debian/dists/stretch/main/installer-armel/20160516/images/kirkwood/network-console/buffalo/ It's latest d-i image for stretch (testing)
So I consider the issue you report may be related to hardware.
Bad news,but thank you.
sometimes this can be download but with other more errors(no some files or some files wrong). if this have a disk or img? thank u
