lost app drawer and can not replace it #275

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. drag an icon onto the app drawer.
2. once you drop the app it will replace the app drawer
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
i expected to be able to remove the app from the screen or quickly uninstall it.

The app replaces the app drawer and i can not find how to put it back without
reseting ADW

What version of the product are you using? On what phone? What Android
version?
motorola defy
android v 2.1
ADW version1.3.0

Please provide any additional information below.

Found a quick fix.
1. long press on desktop.
2. custom shortcut
3. pick activity launcher actions
4. choose open/close app drawer
(you can also give it a custom icon now)
5. drag the icon back to where you want it

That is a good workaround.

If only I could figure out how to select the previous "9 dots" icon, instead of
the standard app-drawer 4 squares icon.

That is designed method of restoring default shortcut, actually. The previous
default icon can be restored by downloading it at the link below.

http://jbthemes.com/anderweb/

"As not everyone like the new app drawer icon, you can create your own app
drawer icon by doing this:

Menu/Add/Custom Shortcut/pick activity/Launcher Actions/Open-Close App drawer
Then you can leave the default icon or choose your own one and put it on the
dock in whatever position you want.

If you want the old icon design, download this to your phone and select it as
icon when creating your custom shortcut."

Star issue 282 if you agree there should be a quicker/easier way.

I don't think that the middle-action-button should have special handling. It's
good that it works like the LAB and RAB.

If this gets put on the help page (that I can't find at the moment), then
people will be able to find it.

I'm going to go ahead and close this and put it on klinster's short list of
things to update on the wiki/help page.

Using ADW 1.3.1 and having the system langauge set to Russian this issue is
impossible to resolve, unless one switches back to English.
Reason for this is that there are no "Launcher actions", the ADW-activities are
listed twice.

Long press the desktop
select custom shortcut
select launcher actions
select open close app drawer

drag that to the center.
