yeah, i dropped the ball on this one. google changes some policy or something, and frankly i just couldn't be bothered. since i have no time to work on this extension anyway, maybe it's better that it remains off the shelves for now. maybe if i have time to get back to it, i'll reinstate it then.
Came here to look for news on this. +1 if you find the time to fix whatever needs fixing. The last version that is still on some of my devices (4.0.2.1) still works with the current version of chrome as far as i can tell.
yea, i wanted to install this extension for my kids and couldn't find it anymore. The last version (4.0.2.1 for me) still runs great on all platforms i use, thx for your effort!
Found out how to install it from github:
git clone https://github.com/rojer/a-s-minus.git
Then go to chrome://extensions/ , click on 'developer mode' (top-right corner), then 'load unpacked', and select the a-s-minus directory you just created with 'git clone' (Chrome looks for the file 'manifest.json').
Voila, you're screenshotting again!
thx for the pointer, though i'm not sure that works like that on a chromebook and i really dont' want to enable dev mode there, but i'll give it a try, thx.
My apologies; I had never gotten an extension to run outside of the app store before, and just had to share what I'd found.
Let me know if you find a way to make it work on a chromebook; it'd be a good data point.
I'm not sure if packing the extension is sufficient, or if signing is needed. Dev mode probably turns off the signing requirement.

Hi mate, thanks for the instructions on this one. I successfully installed the extension but can't make it appear in teh extension shortcuts, any ideas at all?
If you click on the jigsaw-puzzle icon in the top-right corner, a drop-down menu of your installed extensions should appear. "Awesome Screenshot..." should be on that list. If so, click on the push-pin next to it, and it should now be pinned in the extension shortcuts. At least, that's what worked for me.
i'm sorry everyone, i really don't have any time to work on this extension anymore.

Thanks for your efforts, it's always been such a great plugin.

Ahh I'm a dummy. Thanks that worked.
The extension doesn't seem to work anymore; since the original author doesn't have the time to work on it, perhaps somebody could fork it & maintain a new version?
@InklingGirl hm... works without problems here on Google Chrome Version 100.0.4896.60 (Official Build) (64-bit)
@gebi not for me, but used to.

Thank you for hint!
I doubt this is news to you, but I'm quite curious what shenanigans google is screwing up now.
Keep up the great work!
