With a voice control Roku remote, no voice text works #2

I have tried the sample app. It loads, and I can select the various keyboards. But when I hold the voice control button down on the remote, and speak, saying things like "abc@gmail.com", or "Enter text ab", or "input letter b", it just says "Thinking", then "Please try again". Anything I am doing wrong? Sometimes when I speak, Roku search opens up with the text I said- so there is some pick-up of voice.

@RowanG1Bilue setting up a Streaming Stick 4k via VPN to the US and an US-Roku-account solved some issues #3 for me.
