The 2019 feedback (#90) has shown that the Direct Messages part of the JRMI exercise requires significantly higher programming skills to be effective, compared to the Message Board part. Split both into separate exercises.
Because I want to reduce the classroom time spent on Java RMI, the Direct Messages part will go straight to the attic. I'll keep the code and description around, but I won't spend time to flesh out the separate exercise. If anyone else wants to reactivate it, some polishing will be required.
needed:
[x] new build targets
[x] revise remote API, move outlet-related interfaces to extra package
[x] clean up exercise description for Message Board
optional, would make sense to revive the Direct Messages exercise:
[ ] revise exercise description for Direct Messages
[ ] add ticket-related commands to the program
[ ] refactor code to avoid dependencies on the dedicated Message Board Client packages
