@snipe thank you for reporting. The issue has been resolved and released in https://github.com/rollbar/rollbar-php-laravel/releases/tag/v2.4.1
Although, the fact that you are getting a null as a response in the first place is concerning. Can you tell me more about your setup of the SDK? What is your setup in config/app.php, especially the level key of the rollbar config array? Also, what is the log or error that triggered this exception in the first place - specifically the level passed to the log method? Same info as for https://github.com/rollbar/rollbar-php-laravel/issues/67 would be useful.
What is your setup in config/app.php, especially the level key of the rollbar config array?
I have (and always have) rollbar set up in the services config. (We load it at the AppServiceProvider level because not all of our users are Rollbar customers, so we only try to ship logs to Rollbar if a Rollbar token is present in the .env.)

So the .env controls the debug level using:
ROLLBAR_TOKEN=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
ROLLBAR_LEVEL=info
This is the way we've had this running for over a year now, and it's the first time it's given us any issues.
Also, what is the log or error that triggered this exception in the first place - specifically the level passed to the log method?
Any action that triggers a log event will cause the issue. The issue originally came up because we have some console commands that output debug log information to show progress of a process.
Same info as for #67 would be useful.
I'm not sure what other info you need here - this ticket has the same or more information as #67.
@snipe awesome! Thank you for extensive info. The issue was caused by a bug I introduced in v2.4.0
. The release I just pushed v2.4.1
should not give you any more trouble.
Can you update to v2.4.1
and confirm that it's all good in your setup now?
I just updated to 2.4.1 and it seems to be working now - thanks so much!
I'm not sure what changed here, but I'm now getting an error whenever a log event is triggered.
In my
AppServiceProvider.php
, I have:And when
\Log::debug('foo');
is called, I get the above error ongetStatus()
.If I remove the Rollbar references in the AppServiceProvider, the error goes away.
Any ideas? I've cleared composer, etc.
