[ROM Birds 114842] Trogon comptus - First record at East of the Andes?? #25

I wish confirm the ID of this specimen!!! Trogon comptus is distributed for the Choco region, at western Andes. Canalendres is in the Eastern Foothills of the Andes, at the western slope of the Serranía de los Churumbelos (near Mocoa). Perhaps this specimen is a Trogon mesurus instead T. comptus?!?! this would be the First record of Ecuadorian Trogon in Colombia!!

Hi:

There is no original identity on the original field collection tag so I can suppose that this ID was assigned to this bird here. Looking at it I believe that it is a Trogon comptus but since part of the specimen has original damage, part of skin missing on breast, I am going to add a question to this ID in database.

Hi Bradley, thanks for checking out the specimens (include the other issues). I talked with Arturo Pasos the last year, trying to figure out the historical locations sent to ROM and other museums, but time doesn't came alone... he don't remember with certain those localities well. However, I have friends in Mocoa and some localities (such as Canalendres) will be possible re-confirm. Say hello to the new ROM Curator and keep in touch.

Hi: And thank you for the reply. If you can supply me with coordinates for this sometime in the future? It would be appreciated. Again. Thank you.
