[ROM Birds 118693] Idioptilon zosterops zosterops - Update ID ROM-118693 #23

Closed OACColombia closed 8 years ago

OACColombia commented 8 years ago

In VertNet this specimen (ROM-118693) appear as Idioptilon zosterops zosterops. I understand that the genetic data indicate that Hemitriccus is not monophyletic, but same taxa in VertNet include the taxa zosterops in the genus Hemitriccus. Perhaps in the future the species in Hemitriccus genus will be split in several genus, but until that the ROM-118693 still be Hemitriccus zosterops.

Thanks, OAC

Hi: This taxonomy will stay as is until or when our new Curator will look at this.

bradmROM commented 8 years ago

I decided to have a look at this specimen in the collection. The genus has been updated to Hemitriccus and the case label has been done also. I have updated our data and this update will be reflected in the next polling of records from our IPT.
