Hi:
After much consideration I can see how the identity of Synallaxis subpudica was assigned to this series of skins. At that time there was no readily available, in the ROM, sources and/or illustrations along with descriptions of this group of birds in the Genus Synallaxis. Such a restricted range on S. subpudica.
I have been comparing these with illustrations, descriptions and range maps of Synallaxis species in books like the Second Edition of the Field Guide to the Birds of Colombia and The Guide to the Birds of Colombia.
So I am going to rename these specimens from Mocoa as Synallaxis albigularis rodolphei.
Like in the past I will make a note in our specimen data on the renaming of these specimens.
Many thanks for pointing these specimens out..
Thanks for check out. Hopefully one day I visit the ROM and can measure all those Putumayo (Colombian) specimens!!!
Cheers, OAC
I wish to confirm the correct ID of this specimen, an other specimens in ROM cataloged as "Synallaxis subpudica", because the locality (Mocoa, Putumayo) is far far away from the distribution of Silvery-throated Spinetail (A ENDEMIC from Cundinamarca-Boyacá plateau).
