Filter by context on dashboard #67

Hello

Like realms, some times you are only interested in a particular context. Because you are at home, at shopping or whatever you just want to see relevant task to where you are. By default the -all- context should be selected, but a context selector would be awesome.

Regards

If you view the context tiddler itself you can see a list of tasks in that context grouped by project. Is that good enough?

danielo515 commented 9 years ago

No is not. It requires too many steps to do such necessary thing. You have to open the contexts list, then click on the context and then you have your list. Then if you want to switch to another context you have to start again. Think in most of the task apps, they provide filtered views.

Is this something you would like to see on the Dashboard and Project tiddlers?

Hello Roma, Yes exactly.

I would appreciate such a function too. I think a Context Dashboard would be awesome.

I concur, this is the one thing that currently prevents me from using this daily. Without quick access to actions associated with a certain context, I revert back to scanning the whole list, which for me is an essential part of GTD. I've done some digging around, trying to understand how the plugin works. Now I hoped this to be an easy addition for a quick pull request, by copying the waiting action grouped by contact list and changing some of the list parameters. Yet I found out that there is no gsd_context equivalent of gsd_contact for the group_by clause, probably because the contexts are implemented using a TW native tagging concept which I have not yet wrapped my head around.
