Seems to work as intended after going back a step and changing to only dial 1 cyborg, then save that cyborg with a suboid (albeit with a slight typo; "Suk Graduate saves 1 Sub in Carthag and")
Ah, the problem is definitely with saving Cyborgs. Redoing the battle again, but dialing 2 Sub/1 Cy results in this.
