Update: I found setting on my router that disconnects clients if the signal drops below a threshold so the ESP board wifi signal must be fluctuating at times too low. Turned it off on my router so lets hope it solves the issue.
Great discovery! Is it performing better now?
The ESP typically draws more current when transmitting over Wi-Fi, so be sure to use a suitable power supply (5V 1A) to prevent fluctuations.

So far so good. Time will tell.
I love the product and its working great to solve a motion issue with a very open kitchen space. My issue is it keeps losing wifi connection. I can unplug and plug it back in and its back in business. Device is only 10 ft from a stable router.
