Weekly Snapshots - Community Building Feature #395

Copying over this idea from discord because I think it is a good example of the type of thing to put on our Funding Board.

Hey @Shingai (and @Rhys | Roote and anyone else that sees this), I'm curious how interested you'd be in a feature in Tweetscape that would allow you to create reviews like this: https://bestoftwitter.substack.com/p/best-of-twitter-week-of-march-28?s=r (and the ingroup weekly I shared previously) in Tweetscape.

It seems like a good community building tool you could use to entice newcomers (e.g. systems scientists that aren't on twitter yet). It could be like creating a spotify playlist, but instead you add tweets to "weekly systems thinkers 'best of'" or something like that.

that way, the vision for tweetscape would be a curation tool that allows power users to find better info while also semi-passively building artifacts that help show others the best parts of the communities we are interested in

It could help create those reviews by building them in Tweetscape itself. We could have a built in "add to weekly snapshot" button, similar to the like or retweet buttons. Then Tweetscape would keep a log of your snapshots instead of copy/pasting links to some other location like a substack or note taking app (which is likely what ingroup weekly is doing). Still a manual process, but would simplify that snapshot creation to happen in a single place, and add an active element to your scrolling, which is creating that snapshot artifact. Then Tweetscape becomes the platform to manage/share/build those snapshots. So this feature itself wouldn't aid in finding tweets that should be added (in its simplest form, at least). Tweetscape sorting and filters will be that part that does that
